Dr. Fomin is board-certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery (Mohs Surgery). He grew up in Hawaii and Germany in a military family before attending the University of Arkansas, where he also competed in mixed martial arts. He graduated cum laude from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine before being accepted into the Dermatology Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he served as chief resident in his final year.
Following residency, Dr. Fomin continued his service with the US Army, attaining the rank of Major. He became Chief of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, and Laser Surgery at Irwin Army Community Hospital in Fort Riley, KS, while also serving as a chair member of the Cancer Committee and Officer-in-Charge of all medical specialty departments. He has held teaching positions as a professor of Dermatology and Tropical Medicine for Kansas State University’s Physician Assistant School, the Army’s Physician Assistant School, and the JFK Special Warfare School.
Since completing his dermatology and surgical training in June 2021, Dr. Fomin has been a respected educator and mentor to pre-med students, medical students, physician assistants, and dermatology residents. He has also served as a featured lecturer at national dermatology conferences.
Dr. Fomin’s professional passions are the surgical treatment of skin cancer and utilizing his expertise in surgery and lasers to provide the most outstanding cosmetic results for his patients. Outside of medicine, Dr. Fomin enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and children. He is also passionate about powerlifting and serving in his local church.
